Who We Are

Local commitment. Humanitarian action.

Founded in 2015 by Afghan volunteers, OHAID was formally registered as a national NGO with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan on 8 January 2023. We work to alleviate suffering among people facing emergencies and crises, with a focus on hunger, essential humanitarian assistance and the needs of marginalized communities.

Our work aims to strengthen local capacity to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from crises. We work with communities and partners to support practical responses while building foundations for longer-term resilience.

We aim to reach people in need regardless of political affiliation, ethnicity, race or language.
