History

Organization for Humanitarian Assistance in Disasters (OHAID) was established in 2015 by an Afghan team of volunteers, as a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization, OHAID formally registered on January 8 / 2023. in the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan as a national NGO.

Vision

The overriding aim of this social institution as a non-political, non-governmental, and non-profit is to leave no stone unturned to willingly provide humanitarian assistance to the most poverty stricken communities irrespective of political, ethnical, racial prejudices, and language favoritism.

Mission

is to assist marginalized and Vulnerable communities in developing food security policies, programs, and projects to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help improve the agriculture, fisheries, and forestry sectors, and to make sustainable use of their environmental and natural resources.

About 

Organization for Humanitarian Assistance in Disasters OHAID strives to save lives of the most vulnerable people either in emergency or crises by fighting hunger and delivering Humanitarian assistance. Considering the aims and objectives, OHAID is established to help improve local ability to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises in Afghanistan. As the hunger crisis in Afghanistan is incredibly on the rise, with over half the country’s population of 40 million now facing acute food insecurity, children encountering malnutrition, hunger and various other natural and social trends, OHAID comes up with the intense to work for development of marginalized and vulnerable communities. Meanwhile, we intend to improve agriculture, fisheries, and forestry sectors and to make sustainable use of the environmental and natural resources.

A better coordination structure is essential to ensure effective efforts from all stakeholders. Effective management and coordination of stakeholders enhance collaboration and team participation during project implementation. OHAID has professional communication, collaboration, and coordination level with the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, Ministry of Refugees and Returnees, and Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs along with Kabul, Kapisa, Wardak, Nangarhar, and Balkh provincial governors and other relevant line departments.
